CIVCO Promotes Eric Knipfer to Director of Business Development for Advanced Robotics
KALONA, Iowa, USA, – CIVCO Medical Solutions is pleased to announce the promotion of Eric Knipfer to Director of Business Development for Advanced Robotics. Knipfer will work closely with the CIVCO sales force, clinical team and service team, managing numerous aspects of sales, installation and service for the Protura Robotic Patient Positioning System. “I’m excited to have someone of Eric’s caliber concentrating on these advanced robotic products,” said Ken Newby, National Director of Sales for CIVCO. “Eric has years of experience in the industry, with clinical and corporate connections plus extensive knowledge of robotics, linear accelerators and capital equipment.” Knipfer will also lead advanced training with the CIVCO sales force.
The CIVCO advanced robotics product offering has developed over the last few years and continues to be a strong focus area for the company. “As CIVCO moves into advanced robotics and workflow solutions it is important to dedicate resources to support these complex transactions,” said Michael Saracen, Vice President of Advanced Robotics and IGRT Solutions for CIVCO. “Eric has a strong technical background and extensive experience interacting with all levels within radiation oncology. He is well suited for his new role and we are eager to leverage his experience.” The new position provides a centralized resource for CIVCO customers.
Knipfer has over 13 years of experience in the radiation oncology field, working for companies including Elekta and CR Bard in sales management and executive roles. “I am very excited to have the opportunity as the new Director of Business Development,” said Knipfer. “This position leads the CIVCO advanced robotics line to a new level of growth and partnership, with both our internal sales staff and with major industry vendors. We continue to see cancer treatment centers adopting robotics into their SBRT and SRS programs, which makes this an exciting time for CIVCO’s Protura Robotic Patient Positioning System.” Protura is compatible with major linear accelerators, including Varian, Elekta and Siemens, providing centers with an affordable, state-of-the-art 6 degree of freedom robotic motion management system.
Knipfer will continue to be located in Florida.
